Main menu:
Temporary Visitors' Airgun Permits
Please read this section carefully. It is very important, especially if this is your first shooting visit to the Isle of Man.
The Isle of Man is not part of the United Kingdom. It is a separate jurisdiction with its own legal system which means that FACs and Shotgun Certificates issued in the United Kingdom (and European Firearm Passes) are not valid in the Island.
All airguns are regulated in the Isle of Man (referred to as Regulated Weapons), together with crossbows and of course cartridge firearms and ammunition.
Visitors to the Island require temporary permits issued by the Isle of Man Police for all air rifles and pistols. Unfortunately, we are unable to make this an online application since the Police require a printed form.
Please download a form from the link below which should be returned, fully and accurately completed, to the Organisers at the address below (not direct to the Police) as early as possible. The Organisers will submit the application on your behalf.
** Only Part B of the Regulated Weapons Permit form needs to be completed. ** The organisers will act as sponsors and complete Parts A and D. Part C deals with Group applications.
If your home jurisdiction requires airguns to be registered, a copy of your certificate should accompany the application.
The Visitor's Regulated Weapons Permit has a fee of £12, which is simply the fee charged by the Police.
Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to drop us an email or a quick call.
The closing date for permit applications to be received, to guarantee processing by the Police, is Friday 14th March 2025.
The requirement for the Police to have issued a temporary permit before your arrival in the Isle of Man is a mandatory legal position.
