Temporary Visitors' Firearm Permits
Please read this section carefully. It is very important, especially if this is your first shooting visit to the Isle of Man.

The Isle of Man is neither part of the United Kingdom nor a member state of the European Union.  It is a separate jurisdiction with its own legal system which means that FACs and Shotgun Certificates issued in the United Kingdom, and European Firearm Passes, are not valid in the Island.

All airguns are regulated in the Isle of Man (Regulated Weapons), together with cartridge firearms and crossbows.  Manx law, however, still permits the holding of cartridge pistols.

Visitors to the Island require temporary permits issued by the Isle of Man Police for all guns and cartridge ammunition.  There are two separate forms: the 'Application for a Temporary Firearm Permit' (which is needed for cartridge firearms and ammunition) and the 'Application for a Visitor's Regulated Weapons Permit' (needed for airguns)**.  It is a straightforward process, however, and all the details are here for you.  The Temporary Firearm Permit is free while the Temporary Regulated Weapons Permit has a fee of £12.  Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to drop us an email or a quick call.

** Only Part B of the Regulated Weapons Permit form needs to be completed.  The organisers will act as sponsors and complete the remainder.

The application forms can be downloaded below.  Please return them fully and accurately completed, together with an accompanying photocopy of your FAC and/or airgun certificate if your home jurisdiction has airgun registration, along with your other entry details,
to the Organisers at the address at the bottom of this page (not direct to the Police) as early as possible.  The Organisers will submit them on your behalf.

The closing date for permit applications to be received, to guarantee processing by the Police, is Friday 24th February 2023.

The requirement for the Police to have issued a temporary permit before your arrival in the Isle of Man is a mandatory legal position.
